A red headed girl pays for a tall coffee in a not-so-vacant Starbucks on a Wednesday afternoon in mid-March. This girl has a name, Lucy Phoenix McCarthy; although, she is mainly acknowledged as Phoenix. She is lucky enough to find an empty table by a window. As she walks over, she takes off her green polyester winter jacket, revealing a simple pale-colored v-neck, and sits it on the back of her chair. Sitting down, she inhales and exhales deeply while her bright blue eys gaze at the snow falling right outside the window. All that is running through her head right now is that she can’t wait for winter to say “goodbye” and for spring to say “hello.” The weatherman said that the snow should stop soon and in about two weeks, the cold air will slowly disappear. It’s a sad thought, winter going away and all, but after getting frostbite, she can’t wait for winter to leave. In the back of her mind, she has a strange feeling that she will meet someone new today, but the question is, when and where? In this Starbucks? On her way out? The possibilities are endless… She is startled when a Starbucks worker, with a name tag that reads the name Steven, sits the coffee she, ordered about three minutes ago, in front of her. After she thanks Steven, she sips her coffee and goes back to her reverie of thoughts.
