[/blockquote][/blockquote]Morganville: The place you’ll never want to leave.
Or perhaps it’s safer to say the place you’ll never be able to leave. You can try, but I promise you that you won’t succeed. Fail to make it out, and you die. And in the unlikely event that you succeed, all of your memories are wiped. And who's to say that the vampires won't kill you anyway, just for the hell of it? Everyone knows that they're not the most forgiving creatures in the world.
But Morganville is special: created by Amelie to give vampires somewhere to live without having to fear the threat of being staked, Morganville is not the happiest place for humans. A vampire's protection and a simple blood donation each month should keep a human safe. It's just too bad that this doesn’t protect you from the vampire whose protection you’re under. The only humans that are truly safe are those who come to the University, but usually those ones are straight in and out, never learning anything about the town they’re residing in. Just stay in at night, and you should be fine.. hopefully.
Myrnin, the alchemist and old friend to Amelie the founder, has been working away at a cure for that disease that's been infecting the vampires and making them go crazy. As they grow older, the more the disease affects them, and turns them haphazardly into a blood-craving animal. Recently, even the younger ones have been feeling these affects, though no human is aware that this disease, much like Alzheimer's, exists. Myrnin takes an assistant every so often, and finally thought he had a winner with Claire. Unfortunately, Claire just didn't last long enough, and her body was found by the Hidden Lake before they could make any real progress.
Amelie has joined forces with her once enemy: Oliver, in an attempt to unite the town, but is this unity truly real? Or just another one of Morganville’s illusions? Amelie's the only one who knows how to turn a human into a vampire, and it’s a wonder she hasn’t fallen prey to the disease as well.. Or has she? Perhaps the Founder is just exceptional at hiding it. No one is sure anymore. Things are too busy falling apart for anyone to be sure of anything.
Morganville is on the verge of falling off a cliff into insanity.
