"I'm going out," Skylar told the other guys in the tour bus for the band she was in, 420 Departure. She took another long drag of her joint before handing it off to the guitar player in the band. With a wave of her hand she was out the bus door. Her eyes looked around where all the buses were, to see if there was anyone interesting to talk to before she began to make her way to the park. Nope, there was no one. And then Skye began her usual trip to the local park. No matter what city or state she was in, the girl was bound to find a park somewhere. She loved parks. Everything about parks just screamed amazing. And that's what Skye liked: amazing and fun.
About halfway to the park, Skylar began to think that she probably should have brought that joint she was smoking earlier with her. She shrugged it off and picked up her pace to the park. Walking face was difficult for her. Damn, she couldn't help it that she was eighteen years old and only five feet tall. But she liked that she was short. She looked more like a kid, which made her bubbly attitude even more acceptable . . . well, to most people it did.
It was December at Washington DC, meaning it was fairly cold. But not cold enough that it would stop the girl from going to the park. All she had underneath her little slouch jacket thing was a black cami and she was perfectly fine. Not like she was use to cold weather. She was from LA, California so warm weather was what she was use to, but she had gotten use to the cold after a while.
Skye's eyes widened as he eyes set on the empty park in front of her. The girl automatically made her way to the swings, which was probably one of her favorite things ever. She plopped her small body down on the swing and began to swing lightly, not very high though. She enjoyed swinging even if it was only gently. The girl's eyes looked over when she heard footsteps coming. outfit: here!tag: Raeeeeee! <3

December. December was one of Rae's favourite months. It gave her an excuse to wear extra layers of clothes which made her look even more like a boy than she already did. But she had dressed significantly light today. In a bit of a rush to escape boredom she just grabbed her hoodie and threw it over what she was already wearing. She figured she'd wander around and snap a few shots of the area. Her strong suit had always been portraits but she was working on improving her landscape work. Rae had never had a job opportunity like this. A chance to travel across the country and see things people back in her two-bit home town couldn't even conjure up in there shut-in little minds.
It wasn't too early, but Rae still figured the city wouldn't be too hectic. But then again...it was DC. The nation's capital was probably always busy. She grabbed her Nikon D7000 off her bunk and hopped down the stairs and off the bus. As she made her way around the city, across streets, over bridges, under canopies of trees she took random shots of objects that came her way. By the time she reached what seemed like an appropriate location she had a few pictures of a gay couple and their pug, a paraplegic biker, a homeless man in an orange coat, and a street artist spray painting the white house on the side of a seemingly abandoned building.
She probably took some of the most random pictures, but that was part of Rae's method of working. She believed that the little things were the most important. The simple things were the very crux of the bigger picture. In her mind, without simple things, you have nothing.
She settled into a grassy knoll behind an empty park and laid down on her back. She settled her camera on her face, viewfinder over her eye and took a few shots of the grey, barren tree branches above her. She had only been on her back for about 3 minutes before she heard a swing creak a few yards in front of her. She sat up and immediately recognized the small figure swaying to and fro on the swings.
Yeah, you could say Rae's stomach did a bit of a somersault. Skye was funny, adorable, bubbly, and bisexual. That was ten points in Rae's book. Her and Skye had met toward the beginning of the tour and instantly became friends. She crept her way toward Skye and the second she turned, Rae snapped and photo of her and smiled. "Hey stranger." There was something amazing about a park. Just the way that there was normally so many little kids around having fun without a thought in the world. Of course they weren't out here now because no parent wants to deal with a sick kid from being out on a playground out in the cold. But cold weather never discouraged Skylar from doing anything though. She would rather be cold than hot any day, really. Because you can always add more layers when it's cold.
As soon as Skylar turned on her swing to see who was walking up to her and recognized the person, a bright smile appeared on her face. It was Rae, and in Skye's opinion she was absolutely adorable. The girl couldn't help but laugh as she heard the click of the camera as Rae took her picture. "Raaae!" she said happily, jumping out of the swing she was swinging in and walked over to the girl, putting her hands in the pockets of her slouch jacket thing. "Taking pictures of me, Ms. Photographer Lady?" She loved photographers. The ones that would take pictures for the band she was in was always so much fun to entertain. Like during shows, Skye would always try to make some kind of weird or funny pose for them to catch her in. It was all quite entertaining, well at least to her. Probably not so much for the photographers because they probably never got too good of a shot of her actually playing her bass and not making a pose for them. It was like they had to catch her when she wasn't looking or they would get a picture of her sticking her tongue out at them or something.
Rae. Skylar had to admit that the name brought a smile to her face. It was something about the girl that was simply amazing. Something that Skye just wanted to have. But of course, Skye wanted everything to do with love or liking people. And she usually got it. That was probably why she was so selfish with that area. She was so use to getting pretty much every guy or girl that she wanted that it's ruined the...two? 'actual' relationships that she's been in. The girl has in her mind that she can just go around and sleep with anyone and not get in trouble for it. But that's not how it was in a relationship and that's what gets her confused. outfit: here!tag: Raeeeeee! <3

*shutter, click* The camera let out a small noise as Rae snapped the photo of Skye. There was something comforting about that noise to Rae, not simply because she was a photographer. But because it was something simple. Consistent.
When she was alone in her room at night putting ice on her bruises and numbing the pain....*shutter, click*. Those long photoshoots where she'd be wrapped in Kylee's beautiful warmth, *shutter, click*. And when she was hitch-hiking her way up north it was the same *shutter, click*. And even now on those nights when she's there in front of the stage with hands in the air and the bass pumping....shutter. And click.
The thing about photography was that behind that lenses Rae was her full true and self. Why? Because unlike her family and judgemental church congregation the camera didn't care whether she wore skirts or jeans, or if she liked girls or boys, or if she wanted Skye or not. But she did.
Rae looked down at her camera screen and couldn't help but laugh at the natural bubbly smile slapped across Skye's face. It was pretty cute, she had to admit. "Taking pictures of me, Ms. Photographer Lady?" Rae smiled at her and said, "Of course I can't help it. You're a natural," she said turning the camera to show Skye her picture. "Hey wait I didn't give you this yet!" Rae leaned forward and wrapped her arms around Skye's waist, holding her a bit longer than normal hugs last. She let go and then realized it was about 36 degrees outside. "So why on earth are you out in weather like this?" Notes: none Tags: skye! Word Count:290 Outfit:here Muse:okayyy

"Awww," Skylar said smiling, then looked down at the picture Rae had taken of her. The girl looked up at Rae as she spoke, soon feeling her arms around her. Skye pulled her own hands out of her pocket and wrapped her arms around the other girl, holding her close. Before she pulled away entirely, she leaned up and kissed Rae's cheek gently and smiled.
"You're waaaarm," Skylar said, her eyes looking up at her. She giggled as Rae spoke again. "Uuuum . . . I don't know. I like the Park. And it's not that cold . . . possibly," she said, tilting her head to the side slightly. But it really was cold, but Skye didn't mind much. She would have minded if she was bored and had nothing else to do but think about how cold it was outside. But now Rae was here so she had something to do and someone to possibly cuddle with if it got cold. "What are you doing out?" Skye said asking Rae the same question she had just asked her. She poked her stomach and smiled. outfit: here!tag: Raeeeeee! <3 Note: Gaaah...this is complete shit. ): I sorry. My muse is awful today.

So maybe Rae's heart flittered a tinsy bit. She was admitting it. She was definitely crushing on Skye. Everytime her lips came near her she couldn't help but jolt back to when they first met. It was toward the begining of the tour when all the bands were just hanging out together. And there were Skye and Rae bonding on the floor. However somehow this bonding time ended in the two of them rolling around kissing like mad. Not that Rae minded. So the second Skye's lips hit her cheek she was gone.
Rae kind of shrugged at Syke's question however. She was a generally warm person, which Skye apparently noticed. So she didn't mind being outside too much. Mostly she just wanted a biot of time to clear her head and get some work done.
Rae, being the social little darling she was, didn't get much time to herself. And even she had to admit that got a little straining sometimes. So every once in a while she just had to get out and do her own thing. She looked around and shrugged one more time. "I dunno, I suppose sometime it's good to be by yourself." She hugged Skye again. "But maybe not all the time."

Skye found Rae absolutely adorable, but then again what didn't she find adorable? Well, ugly things, obviously, but not a lot of things were ugly. And if something was ugly, she just choose to ignore it and move on. The girl only liked to look at cute things like cupcakes, unicorns, and books. Yes, out of all the things that could be cute, she thought books were cute. The only people that knew that she liked to read were the guys and staff in her band. And they constantly picked on her for it. Because when she wasn't out partying or hooking up or something, that's what she was doing . . . reading. She didn't mind it at all. She enjoyed sitting down in her comfy bus bunk with a killer book. But only when she wasn't doing other more important things.
Skye crossed her arms over her chest as a light, but cold breeze came by making her shiver slightly. She couldn't help but mentally slap herself at that moment for not wearing more than a light pull over and a cami out in December in Washington D.C. Sometimes she wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, but all thoughts of coldness disappeared when Rae spoke again. Her lips were about to form into a pout, but then Rae wrapped her arms around her and started speaking again.
Skye's arms uncrossed and wrapped around Rae again, hugging her back, a wide smile placed against her lips. Skye could give hugs all day long, they made her feel all safe and happy. And she was pretty sure hugging Rae was the best hugs she's ever had. "Being by myself makes me nervous sometimes, she said, giggling at herself. Like the entire way to the park she was slightly nervous that something was going to happen or someone would pop up at her. Or maybe it was just the half of a joint she had just before she had come.
Skye finally released Rae and sat down on the cold ground where Rae had been sitting before. The girl gently patted the ground beside her, motioning for Rae to sit with her with a smile on her face. outfit: here!tag: Raeeeeee! <3 notes: Yaaay for muse somewhat being back. xD

Yes indeed it was a dreadful thing to be alone all the time. Thank God for Skye at times like this. Because Rae knew lonely. She was alone when her parents denied her rights to her sexuality, she was alone after every bruise and black eye, she was alone the many hitchhiked nights, and sidewalk-run mornings, hell this tour was the first time Rae hadn’t been alone in…well…practically her whole life. Well…that and every moment spent with Kylee. Kylee was Rae’s first, pretty much everything, including girlfriend. And dammit was she wonderful. Not that Rae would ever admit any of this to anyone else. It just hurt too much. Sure it had been four years since she had last seen her, up until she had joined the tour that is, but they dated for a significant amount of time. And hey, Rae swore she was in love. But Rae left Wixon with the idea burned into her mind that that would be the last time she would ever see Kylee. So it was then and there she had to leave her behind and push it all to the back of her head. Could she ever really forget Kylee? No. Would she try? Hell yes.
She knew now more than ever that she had to leave the memory of “them” back in Texas. It was just too late for Kylee as far as Rae knew. Four years meant preparing to move on and up. And upon asking Skye out she sure had. She knew it’d be difficult to erase the thoughts of everything they had back in Wixon seeing as she’d have to see her every day now. Let’s face it. With Skye’s face clouding her mind Rae was stronger. Much stronger.
However not as if Skye was a rebound. Rae could never put her in that position. She just really liked her. And with someone else to focus her attention on it made things easier. Sure, she was in love with Kylee, and yes, Kylee was amazing in Rae’s eyes, but Skye was different; only in the best way possible. While Skye was carefree, fun loving, and free spirited, Kylee had her moments of being an uptight, over-analytical, stick in the mud. And so what if Skye had never modeled? She loved taking pictures of her either way. And hell, their frequent, whether it was drunken, sloppy, sober, or high, sex wasn't doing anything but helping.
So here they were again, finally, actually together. They sat there on the ground side by side just as they had not too long ago. Rae laid back on the ground stared straight up and grabbed Skye’s hand. Rae was a fan of out of place questions. “Does this make you uncomfortable?”

What? What was this? What the Skylar Louise Hummel in an actual relationship? An actual actual relationship? One of those things where someone is committed to one person and one person only? If this had been a few months earlier and someone told her that she would be in a legit relationship, she probably would have uncontrollably giggled in front of their face. Skye was never really one for relationships, but then she had been in two recently. What was happening to her? Relationships where never really her thing. Being that she's selfish when it comes to things like that. She thinks she can have it all, so what's the point of a relationship when someone is thinking like that? Exactly. But for some reason Skye really liked this chick. And this chick was named Rae and she just happened to be laying right beside of her.
Skylar had never been in a legit relationship with a girl before until know. Hell, she had never really had a legit relationship with anyone before really. Well, maybe one or two relationships, but always with a guy and it always ended up badly. And by when 'badly' is mentioned, it means she cheated on them. But for some reason, Skye hadn't even thought about cheating on Rae. She was content with where she was and would rather not screw it up.
Skylar had to admit, they did have a little bump in the road when Rae's ex-girlfriend Kylee started working for Rae's band. Honestly, it scared Skye to death. The thought that Rae would leave her was awful because, dammit, Skye didn't want her to leave. But the words Kylee was speaking to Skye wasn't much encouragement that Rae would stay. But then, Rae to the rescue, made Skye think that Kylee's words about her leaving weren't true and then happy Skye was all back. And everything was good.
Skylar stared up at the blue sky as she was laying on her back on grass, absentmindedly playing with a few strands of the green stuff with her pale fingers. She felt her hand being grabbed Rae who was laying beside her. Skye couldn't help but giggle at her question. She laced their fingers and looked over at her. "Of course nooot," she said smiling. Skye rolled over on her side to face Rae better. She leaned over and kissed her cheek gently. "Does this make you uncomfortable?" outfit: here!tag: Raeeeeee! <3 notes: Sorry it took so long. ): I have my computer back now, so hopefully posts will come faster now. (:

Flitter would be a good word to use here. Flitter then crash. Flitter goes Rae’s heart every time Skye holds her hand or kisses her cheek. Crash goes her heart every time Skye cries because of what Kylee has said or done. But hey she knew it wasn’t gonna be easy. So she figured “live in the moment while you can.” She laid there staring up at the sky listening to the New York Traffic whiz past the park and held on to Skye’s hand. “Of course that doesn’t make me uncomfortable silly” she said turning to look at her. “Hell, if it did I don’t know how I would have ever let you see me naked.” She laughed at the thought of actually being shy and nude in front of her own girlfriend.
Then she rolled over onto her side to face Skye, well aware of the all-serious expression plastered on her face. “But you know what does make me uncomfortable; the thought of you ever being scared for us because of Kylee.” This was strange, even for Rae. If anything she hated taking stuff seriously. And that’s what drew her to Skye in the first place. She was so effortlessly lovable and carefree. But this was just serious on its own. She had no choice. It was even kind of scary. She had never had this sort of insecurity before that is, the fear of losing someone and not having any say or any control. It was the weirdest thing. She was so happy, but so paranoid. She felt the need to constantly reassure Skye and check in to see to it that Kylee wasn’t fucking around in places she had no business. She continued. “I just…” then stumbled. “I just want you to know if you have any second guesses, or if you ever have that feeling that something not right, or if you ever just flat out feel intimidated I want you to tell me right away. I’m always here and you know that.”
Call her crazy but Rae saw something special in this girl. Notes: i was off on this one xP Tags: skye! Word Count:349 Outfit:here Muse:oh booo

You could say that Skylar was pretty proud of herself and she knew that other people were most likely shocked when finding out that the girl hadn't cheated on Rae not one time. It was crazy how much she liked this girl. Everything about her just made Skye smile more than usual. Even if she was brought up in some conversation, Skye would smile like some idiot. But she would always smile, so she doubted if people noticed . . . but she really did.
That same old smile came onto Skylar's face as Rae spoke again. She giggled at her next sentence, running her index finger of her free hand gently down Rae's cheek before letting it fall to the grass below them. "Truuue," she said and giggled again. "That would suck." Her pale fingers played with the green grass that it had just landed on, her eyes looking down at it.
But suddenly Skylar felt Rae shift onto her side, facing her. Skye's eyes went up to Rae's face. Shit, she though, blinking at Rae's serious expression. About a billion thoughts went through Skye's head at that moment about why Rae was looking so serious. Had she actually gotten back with Kylee? Did she hook up with Kylee? What was wrong? What was happening? It was just that it was so rare for Skye to see Rae all serious like that, so she knew it had to be something. And she couldn't say that she wasn't worried for that one second. Yes, she trusted Rae, but Skye knew how Skye was. Skye would always get that fake serious expression on her face when she would tell a boyfriend that she had cheated. Fake because she never really felt bad about it. They knew who she was when they wanted to get in a relationship with her. Not like she had many relationships. Two tops, but she had that look down when she needed it.
Skylar bit her bottom lip gently and looked down at the grass her fingers were playing with. Kylee. Well, she was kind of right. "...I'm not scared for us," she lied, still looking down at the grass, afraid that if she looked at Rae that it would give her lie away. Though, she was never really that great of a liar. In all honestly, Kylee scared Skye. It was like whenever Kylee is around Skye's self esteem goes down. She feels like Kylee is prettier than her so why wouldn't Rae be with her? But she hid all this and it was all in that head of hers.
Skylar snuggled up close to Rae as she kept talking. She nodded her dark haired head slightly, actually looking up at Rae this time. She presses her lips to Rae's for a second before pulling away. "I know," she said, smiling slightly, her eyes looking up at her. outfit: here!tag: Raeeeeee! <3

"...I'm not scared for us." Rae watched Skye’s face as she spoke, or as much as she could. Skye wouldn’t look up at her. And that did nothing but worry Rae even more. But Rae pushed this to the side for the time being. After she confessed her undying dedication Skye settled next to her and kissed her gently. It was one of those genuine ones that just said “I’m not ready to give up.” However the thought was inevitable. Skye was afraid. Rae could tell. But what could she do? She wasn’t gonna lie Kylee was scary as shit. So Rae just sat all the way up in the grass, crossed her legs, wrapped her arms under Skye’s and pulled her up so she was facing the same way and sitting in the crook between her legs.
She looked out at the park over Skye’s shoulder keeping her arms wrapped around her waist. This was just getting too cute. And Rae loved it. She placed he chin up on Skye’s shoulder. “Well, just as long as you’re not scared.” She said this even though she knew she was. But Rae refused to let her down. Never in her life had Rae cheated. And it appeared that she broke Kylee’s heart, but she refused to do again. Not to Skye. Not to anyone. She squeezed Skye gently around her waist and spoke to her teasingly in a need to break the seriousness. Not that she didn’t love pouring her heart out to Skye every once in a while. The two of them just weren’t serious people. She buried her face in Skye’s hair and kissed the back of her neck. And then in that teasing silly manner that Rae did things in she said “Who’s my babbbyyyy?” This was sure to pull their heads out of the ominous seriousness of their previous conversation.
