Skylar had her light blue Toms shoes dangling from her right hand as she stepped out onto the sand of the beach by the Pier. Nighttime at the beach was probably the best time to go, well it was in Skye's opinion. Not a ton of people where out there and when there was people out there, it wasn't little kids and their annoying parents. It was teenagers or other people having a little party or something. It was great. The girl felt the slightly cold sand against her bare feet as soon as she stepped on it, making her smile. It made her think of the beaches back in California . . . except it was much colder here.
Skylar looked up into the fairly dark sky. Since it was winter, it got darker earlier, which Skye liked. It always seemed that the best things happened after dark. The beach was lit up just slightly the lights that were coming from the Pier, but that was it, so it was still fairly dark. But no where near dark enough to where Skye couldn't see or make out things.
Skylar directed her eyes back to the ocean and where she was walking. She found a good spot and put her shoes down on the sand. Skye's definition of a 'good spot' at the beach was one that wasn't too crowded and one that the sand wasn't too messed up. And the crowed part wasn't difficult to find at all. The girl wished it wasn't so cold so that she could go swimming, not that she brought a swim suit, but that hadn't stopped her before. You could say that she wasn't too shy. She sat down beside her shoes in the sand, looking out into the ocean before looking up at some of the people that were standing on the Pier. outfit: here!

So baby, please take my hand And you’ll never be alone again
Cause I know he broke your heart But I’ll love you ‘til the end Jonah's legs hang over the edge of the wooden pier and his fingers strummed across the brass strings of his acoustic guitar. This was his alone time. The only thing that could be heard besides the sound of his guitar was the gentle lapping of the waves against the shore. The chilled breeze nipped at his face and bare feet. It was a rare occasion to actually see him in shoes. He felt that being barefoot brought him closer to nature. He preferred to live that way. This time now was equivalent to his father's time in the attic. The boy thought about finishing the lyrics to the song that he was writing, but he was enjoying his surroundings a bit too much to focus on it. Jonah's eyes scanned the shoreline not looking for anything in particular. His eyes landed on a girl who was siting by herself. He thought that the girl looked a bit lonely so he slid off of the wooden pier and dropped down to the cold sand below. Jonah hated seeing people that looked lonely, so he was going to go help change that. Jonah lifted his guitar strap back up above his head and began to strum again as he walked toward the stranger. The vibrations of the strings and the slow and steady tune seemed to be absorbed by the sand and the waves. His quaint, captivating voice sounded just audible over the chords. "Jane Doe. I don't even know you, But I know fo' sho'. That you are beautiful So baby let me know Your name." Jonah loved singing about people especially because he knew that people liked it. He was a sweet kid who was only out to cheer people up and make them happy. After all that the poor boy went through one would be surprised that he would even have the courage to keep playing his instruments and continue singing. As he walked up the beach toward this Jane Doe, his feet left a trail of prints behind him and his shadow remained by his side, as a friend that will never leave his side. The light from the moon and the stars made the water shimmer and sparkle as if it was a freshly cut diamond. tagged: skye/open wearing: this muse: (: words: 379 notes: look up Jane Doe by NeverShoutNever! for the song that he's singing (:

Skylar let her index finger begin to draw light squiggly lines in the white sand boredly. Her eyes continued to scan the Pier for anything or anyone that looked faintly interesting. They finally landed on a guy that looked like he was playing the guitar but she couldn't hear it from where she was. She was about to get up and go talk to him, because, well, she was just like that. Skye wasn't a shy girl at all. But before she even got the chance to move, she watched as the guy jumped off the Pier. Her eyes widened slightly because she would have never done that, just because she would be afraid that she would land wrong and break a bone or something.
Skylar sighed, thinking that her only would be fun was now gone and she would have nothing to do. She looked out to the ocean again, her index finger still drawing light lines into the sand. The girl soon heard guitar cords, sounding like they were getting louder to her ear every few seconds. She tore her eyes away from the ocean to look over by the Pier again. The guy that had jumped off, same guy that she was going to go talk to, was walking toward her playing his guitar.
A smile automatically came to Skylar's face as he began singing. He was great. But great was probably an understatement. She loved singing. Well, she loved when other people sang. And she wished she could sing better than what she thought she could. People said that she could sing well, but that was her family . . . and you know how that goes. Family can lie. So Skye never sings and sticks to her bass guitar, which is what she's good at. But when other people where singing, it was great.
Skylar stood up when he got closer, subtly brushing whatever said had stuck to her jeans off. "That was really goooood," she said smiling at him when he finished singing. "I'm Skye," she said, taking another step towards him. outfit: here!

So baby, please take my hand And you’ll never be alone again
Cause I know he broke your heart But I’ll love you ‘til the end "Why thankya, Jonah said as he bowed. The girl introduced herself as Skye. "That's a lovely name," he replied. The boy's mind fluttered about in the clouds, soaring with the seagulls and the airplanes. "I'm Jonah." He smiled brightly as he introduced himself, showing off his pearly white teeth. Jonah motioned for the beautiful girl to sit down next to him as he plopped down to the cold sand. "So, what brings you here?" His hand traced letters into the sand; s, k, y, and e. His warm, bright smile never left his face for a second. Skye intrigued Jonah in ways he could not explain. Why is such a pretty girl sitting out here by herself, he asked himself as he listened intently to her talking. His eyes were torn between the ocean's mesmerizing glimmer and Skye's captivating smile. Jonah's fingers gently strummed a steady pattern of chords without realizing it. The tune was soft and muted, blending in with the steady rumble of the waves crashing into the sandy shore. The pale yellow glow of the stars and the moon seemed to let off the perfect amount of light, just enough to illuminate the sand. The boy scrunched his nosed in an attempt to push his dorky glasses up on his face. His hands were a bit sandy from leaning back on them. Jonah's toes had already burrowed into the chilled sand hiding the coin-sized peace sign tattoo he had on the top of his foot. His hyperactive mind flittered around, pouncing on the topics that Skye had mentioned. tagged: skye/open wearing: this muse: (: words: 261 notes: rawer. sorry it's short. ):

Skye couldn't help but giggle as probably the most adorable boy she has ever seen bowed in front of her. "Awww, thank you," she said smiling. She had to admit, her feelings about her own name were iffy. Yes she liked it . . . but Skye was short for Skylar. And Skylar was what she didn't like. That was the name she was called when people were angry at her or something along those lines. So, whenever she got into middle school, she just started introducing herself as Skye so most people didn't even know her real name.
When he introduced himself, she smiled. "You're name's pretty lovely too," she said and giggled, her eyes looking up at him. Her eyes watched him as he sat down on the white sand, motioning for her to sit beside him. And she followed, sitting right down beside him and not even having to think twice about it. Her eyes looked over at him when he talked, honestly trying to find some kind of interesting answer, but there really wasn't one. She looked down to what he was doing in the sand, a smile automatically coming to her face when she saw her name written out in it. She began to draw his name lightly in the sand as she spoke. "Um . . . I like the beach at night," she said simply, adding one of those cute little sideways smilie face to the end of his name when she was finished.
"Oooor . . . I just happened to know that some adoraaable person would be out on the beach playing his guitar. And that's what made me come here," Skylar said, looking over at him smiling. "Yeah, I'm gonna stick with that one. What about you? The girl looked down at his guitar as she began to hear light chords coming from it. She wished that she could play the guitar. Well, if it was up to her she would try to play every instrument out there. But then again, her attention span isn't long enough to try to learn it all. But guitar couldn't be that difficult, right? She already could play her bass guitar, so a guitar is just a bass guitar . . . just with six strings? She didn't know and didn't really want to worry about that right now. She just liked the sound that was coming from it and how adorable the guy playing it was. outfit: here!notes: Trust me, it's okkaaays! So baby, please take my hand And you’ll never be alone again
Cause I know he broke your heart But I’ll love you ‘til the end “Aw shucks,” Jonah said as Skye said that she just happened to know that an adorable person would be out on the beach playing this guitar. “Me?” He chuckled, blushing a bit. His pink cheeks were barely visible in the light of the moon and the stars. The chilled breeze made his cheeks feel as if they were redder than they were. He flipped his hair out of his face and looked down into the dark sand smiling like a little kid on his birthday. The boy smiled and looked up at the girl beside him. “Hmm…since I’m not home and I don’t have my attic to climb up to, the beach is my next best option to just sit and clear my head. I was trying to finish writing a song that I had been working on for a while, but I kept getting distracted by something beautiful…” Jonah’s voice trailed off. He wasn’t sure if he should tell her that she had distracted him. The boy let out a slight laugh and decided to continue, “by you.”After admitting that, Jonah nervously strummed his guitar a bit louder. His face became a bit redder and he scrunched his nose again to adjust his glasses which ad practically slid off his face from looking down. A bashful smile played across his face. He was definitely a bit embarrassed and was hoping that Skye wouldn’t notice too much. Jonah retreated into his mind, afraid that he had just made a fool of himself in front of a pretty girl. He mentally scolded himself for saying that. Meeehhh! Jonah fiddled with his guitar for a minute, avoiding eye contact nervously. tagged: skye/open wearing: this muse: (: words: 279 notes: Dakota- A Rocket to the Moon

Yep. Yeah. Yep. That was it. Skylar's mind was blown about how adorable this boy sitting beside her was. She had probably thought it a billion times since she first saw him walking down the sand, singing, to come see her, but she was thinking it again. And when he said 'aww, shucks' was the icing on the cake. Honestly, who says 'aww, shucks' anymore? He does! And Skye thought it was too cute. She nodded her head at his question, a smile on her face. "Yes yoou!"
Skylar's eyes went over to the boy, giggling quietly as she saw the light pink blush on his cheeks. It was barely visible, but she could just make it out under the moon. She reached out her hand and poked his cheek gently, her lips forming into yet another smile. Her lips were rarely in another form than a smile. And a frown...? Oh no, not that. A pout maybe, but never a frown. A frown was too much negativity that wasn't needed or wanted.
Skylar blinked at him when he said he was being destracted by something beautiful, which was her. Not that she didn't like it, it just took a minute to sink in. Hot or some word like that is what she was use to being called by someone of the opposite sex. So hearing words like gorgeous, or beautiful, in this case, is something different for the girl. So after it sunk in, a bright smile came to her face. "Awww, Jonaah, you're too freaking sweet," she said, looking over at him. Skye waited for a second before speaking again, looking down at his guitar. "What's the song you're writing about?" she asked. That would probably be one of those questions that she should have stuck a 'if you don't mind me asking' behind it. But Skye didn't because, well not because she was rude, she just didn't think it was one of those questions and she honestly wanted to know. outfit: here!
