THE WAY SHE MOVES AWAY, OH ( ( I W A N T E D H E R ) ) - - - & & TO STAY AWHILE D O N' T G O A W A Y Roxanna Moxie sat on the pier with her legs dangling over the side, head in her hands and fingers lace in her hair anxiously. It was the only way to keep her hands from shaking, since she had rolled hard on ecstasy the night before and was now feeling a harsh comedown. Normally Roxie didn't want to get out of bed when she was crashing, but for some reason today she dragged herself from the pillows and sheets and decided to take a walk to clear her head. It was a beautiful, crisp day at Diamond Pier, not a cloud in the sky, and everyone else seemed to be out enjoying the post winter weather. It was only Roxie that appeared to have a rain cloud constantly hovering above her head today, but that was how she always felt the morning after rolling and she was used to the feeling. But being on ecstasy was something she constantly craved, and couldn't seem to stop herself if it was available. She didn't care about the crash the next day as long as she could roll by night.
Sitting up, Roxie skipped a stone across the water and leaned her head back, rubbing her eyes. Her whole body ached and her mood was absolutely miserable. That Brodee kid was on her mind too, which was odd because normally nobody got into the head of the haughty Roxanna. But he had an attitude she liked, and he was an enigma. Their conversations about his sister, her mother, cancer, and whatever else had stuck with her and made her think. Who was he? What was his story? What made him tick? Oh well, she had plenty of time to find out.
The swirling depression came back to her and anger swirling in the pit of her stomach like it always did when she didn't take her medication. In her crashed out state, she hadn't remembered to take her mood stabilizers before leaving, so now she could feel the dragon churning around inside her chest, desperately trying to break free from its cage and wreak havoc.
"Fuck this!" she bellowed, standing up and hurling a rock at the water as hard as she could. "Why me?" a dismal little voice in her head said as she sat back down again. She remembered why she always stayed in her bed during crashes: because she hated anyone seeing her so off her game. After all, the fast talker did had a reputation to uphold.

Finn wandered into the park with a skip in his step and his usual sideways grin on his face, brandishing his camera and prepping to take pictures of random things. It was basically his day off, so he decided to dick around with his camera like he always did. Snapping a picture of a couple kissing by a fountain, he got himself a hot pretzel at a cart and wound his way through the park toward the water, hoping he'd catch a few ducks in midflight. Instead, however, he found his ex girlfriend sitting on a park bench looking as if the entire world was crashing down around her ears. It made his breath catch in his throat. She was the only girl that ever had a good hand at taming his immature, loud mouth, and he still held a place in his heart for her. "Fuck this!" she yelled as she chucked a stone into the water and sat down again. Oh dear, this was probably her off her medication. Just as she was the only one who he would behave himself for, he had previously been the only person who was able to control her wrath, but it had certainly been awhile. Did he still have the power? Should he even bother? Well duh, he couldn't just walk by Roxie without even saying hello. He cared for her far too much to do that. However, if she was coming down and off her meds, it would be more of a challenge than usual. Stop being a twat and just do it! he thought, approaching the bench. He considered startling her, but realized that she's probably rip him to pieces. Instead he merely wandered around the side of the bench and sat down beside her with a warm smile. "You never usually leave your bed on Saturday mornings. Did it explode or something?" he said, trying to be as cheerful as possible so as not to worsen her already bad mood. tagged. THE WAY SHE MOVES AWAY, OH ( ( I W A N T E D H E R ) ) - - - & & TO STAY AWHILE D O N' T G O A W A Y When Finn appeared beside her, Roxie had to say she wasn't too surprised. He was always on piers and in other scenic places taking pictures, but she WAS surprised because she hadn't seen him in awhile. After they had broken up, Roxie had done her best to distance herself from him. It wasn't that she didn't miss him or want to see him, but the fact that she knew he still cared greatly for her and she had a soft spot for him made her uncomfortable. To her, all soft spots must be either isolated or eliminated, and hopefully Finn wasn't dying anytime soon so she had no choice but to avoid him at all costs.
Yet here he was and she was actually pleased to see him. His quirky and obnoxious attitude toward everything and anything always made her laugh and lifted her spirits considerably, so when he joined her on the pier she felt a little bit less angry and miserable. She could take a day off from trying to be tough, just for him.
"I rolled last night and now I feel terrible, but I wanted to come out into the sun."
she explained, avoiding his gaze. "Do I even need to ask why you're here?" [/blockquote][/blockquote] -- tagged: Finn -- outfit: THIS!-- notes: Anything to say? -- lyrics: The Way She Moves -- Forever the Sickest Kids -- credits: LikeAStariNight @ Caution 2.0

The way she tried to look away from his eyes made a smile form on the edge of Finn's lips. Ever since they had broken up she had been making it a point to stay away from him. As she had told him when they'd ended it: "I don't want to stay attached to you forever. I need time away." "Oh, y'know, just wreaking havoc and taking pictures and being my usual enjoyable self," he replied in his thick, Irish accent. He surveyed her face and pursed his lips, resisting the urge to brush a stray hair out of her face. Why was this girl the only person on earth that could render his poncey mouth speechless? "Are you feeling okay? Like, do you need anything?" he asked nervously, tilting his head to the side. God this was so unlike him. If anyone else were sitting here burned out and feeling rotten, he would be trying to annoy the hell out of them and make them feel even worse. But here he was next to Roxie, trying to make her feel better. Yeesh. tagged. Roxie outfit. click.notes. complete credits. carolyn's sweet blasphemy *

THE WAY SHE MOVES AWAY, OH ( ( I W A N T E D H E R ) ) - - - & & TO STAY AWHILE D O N' T G O A W A Y She wanted to deny him, she wanted to tell him to go away. But at the same time she absolutely wanted him right here next to her when she was this down. After rolling she always craved human company the next day, even if she didn't talk to whoever she was around. It was the company that reminded her that she was still alive, even if she wasn't on drugs.
So Roxie leaned her head on his shoulder when he asked if she needed anything, still staring out at sea. Should she tell him how she was feeling? Or should she just keep it to herself?
"No, I'm okay. The company is appreciated though," she said quietly, eyes locked on the ocean.
She held her breath and thought about their relationship. They had broken up when he started drinking heavily, and they'd get into arguments all the time. Roxie could still remember his drunk rage clashing with her own vicious temper- all the sleepless nights, all the screaming matches, all the broken furniture. It wasn't something she could see herself going back to, but there would always be a little piece of her that resided in him.
"It's good to see you."

Finn was definitely taken aback when Roxie put her head on his shoulder, but he didn't mind it one bit. Thankfully he was sober for a change, so he could actually appreciate her company and conversation. When she said it was good to see him, he couldn't help but genuinely smile. "It's good to see you too, even if you are burned out as hell," he said, unable to resist making a joke. Placing a hand on her chin, he lifted her head up to meet his and looked at her right in the eyes, putting his other arm around her. So what if she was burned out? She was still hot, and she was still the ex girlfriend that he could never explain how much he cared for still. "I'm going to kiss you now, before you have a chance to say anything about it. So essentially I'm molesting you," he stated, feeling his usual personality start to return to him. He leaned his head down and kissed her on the lips, tasting some of the alcohol she'd had last night still on her tongue. It was one of his favorite tastes. tagged. THE WAY SHE MOVES AWAY, OH ( ( I W A N T E D H E R ) ) - - - & & TO STAY AWHILE D O N' T G O A W A Y Before she even had time to reply, just like he said, Roxie was being kissed by her ex boyfriend. At first she didn't mind it, and kissed him back for about five seconds. Then a certain dark haired, arrogant individual flashed through her mind, along with the fact that this was one of those very rare occasions when Finn was not drunk. His alcoholism had gotten out of control, and she had loved the sober Finn. This would never work, and she could NOT be making out with him.
Pulling away, she immediately looked at her feet and blushed, a zillion thoughts racing through her mind. What was she supposed to say now? He'd probably be offended that she stopped him, and then she would lose her only chance for another god knows how long to spend time with sober Finn.
"Finn, this can't happen. We both know the reason we broke up is... still a reason," Roxie said, staring at the ground and struggling to find words.

When she pulled away from him, Finn felt his heart burn in his chest and a bubble formed in his throat. She was hurting him, but he knew full well that she was right. His drinking had only gotten worse since they split, but he had no intentions of curbing his habits. Not even for her. Maybe he was ignorant for that. "I... I know," he said softly, looking away from her and placing both hands on his knees. "I guess this is a rare occasion, huh? It's been awhile since i've actually gone out and functioned for a day sober."Finn laughed it off, it was no big deal. It was just how he lived his life on the road. He didn't do drugs and shit, he just drank. Besides, he was always going to be a mouthy little prick whether he was sober or not, so why not have more fun with it? Yet Finn wanted to tell her that if she ever needed anything, he'd be there for her. He wanted to at least be a good friend, but he and Roxie both knew full well that drunk Finn was angry, careless, nasty and two faced. If he told her that he'd be there for her, he'd be lying through his teeth. "Well, I..." he started, trailing off and getting up. "I guess I'll see you around."tagged. THE WAY SHE MOVES AWAY, OH ( ( I W A N T E D H E R ) ) - - - & & TO STAY AWHILE D O N' T G O A W A Y She wanted to tell him to stay, she really did, but something in Roxie kept the thoughts from forming into words as Finn got up from the bench, just as she knew he would. Finn had always been one to run from any kind of situation in which he felt uncomfortable, whether it be by drinking the problem away or- as he was doing now- literally running away.
"Finn, I-!" she called, getting to her feet , but then suddenly she changed her mind. "Yeah I... I guess I'll see you."
With this she watched him go and had absolutely no way to stop him. Instead she let her hand fall to her side and her eyes stay locked on his retreating back. They were never going to figure this out, they were never going to get their feelings in order, and unless God's hand came crashing from the sky to smite him down, Finn was never going to choose her over drinking.
Yet that wasn't even her point. She didn't mind when he drank. In fact, alcohol had originally brought them together at a party. But then he started drinking until he blacked out and got belligerent and sometimes violent, waking up in the morning with no recollection of the night before. When he finally got out of bed, he would start drinking AGAIN, first thing in the morning. She just couldn't live with someone like that.
Which was really what broke her heart, because that wasn't the Finn she knew, but she had a feeling that the Finn she thought of was long gone and had no intentions of coming back.
