name: Neko
age: 19
roleplaying experience: Four years?
roleplaying sample:Despite being in a different country, Mei was still the same. And she had not expected that to change. Even hoping did not too a tiny bit of help. Maybe she should of watched her clumsy two left feet. She did have an awful habit of being distracted by something or other. So her mother was right, after all. Typical. The thud of the books falling on to the floor alerted her, now, as she looked about embarrassed for her books on all fours. She didn’t even want to make any eye contact at this point. As it was all her fault, technically. Mei had only been here less than two months and already she was getting into trouble.
She didn’t think too much of it, as it was all too familiar. She was used to banging into lampposts, trees and even people. So no needed in crowded places, like Masquerade Hall. And California, even. Back in her own village, she wasn’t as nearly as clumsy to bang into other people, as it was small and not widely populated. Still, she got to the larger cities of course. Then she knew the true meanings of crowds. And California was no different. Especially the theme parks, of which she decided to avoid today.
There was simply too many instances of where she could end up embarrassing herself. So she thought nothing of coming to the quiet library. But of course, Mei being Mei, she still managed to cause a little bit of havoc. Some things would always remain constant that way. Glancing up, she could see the disapproving looks of the Librarians. Mei couldn’t do much apart from look at the girl guiltily. She was a little surprised by her reaction, not at all horrified at being knocked down like that.
Picking up her book, Mei forged a smile onto her lips, as her apology was accepted. And that she hadn’t brought any shame or disrespect. Something she would be punished for if she were at home. Having lived here the short time she had, Mei noticed how friendly most Americans were. Just like home. But only more free and laid-back. Something clearly foreign in her home village.
”No need to apologise, I should of looked where I was going” Mei quickly replied, as she had to be polite and accept her own misfortune and clumsiness. Staring at the book at her hands, Mei realized she was still on the floor. As was the girl, although she seemed quite comfortable, just sitting there. Mei did the same, as she felt a bit strange for standing and talking down to someone. A little disrespectful, she felt. Or much like when she was a child and her parents would scold her. And she was not like that.
”Here, just take it. I don’t need it. I was just curious, I probably won’t read it” Mei shook her head and handed the book to the blonde girl. Mei held another book in her hands, although her interest was in the other girl. ”You like books?” she questioned, noticed the quite tall stack the girl had. Mei had read many books, but not particularly in English. Most were in traditional Chinese. But they were such a bore. Mei preferred the ones with bright pictures, so she could just dream away. That was the sort of education she enjoyed the most.
”I’m Mei, by the way” the corners of the young Asian creased into a smile, holding out her hand, in a traditional American handshake. She had learned that bowing would stand out here, as she had learnt the hard way when she first moved down to California.

how did you get here:
From the get go my life was already planned out. My parents were into law and both my brothers worked for my dad’s law firm. So I was meant to follow, suit, whether I wanted to or not. My childhood wasn’t hard, in fact it was kinda nice. Except for the pressure, which slowly ate away at me over the years. The only I coped as through my music, I had nothing else. My grades weren’t great, which as the first indication that I wasn’t gonna live up to my mom and dad’s ideals. They were upset sure, but I didn’t care too much.
It wasn’t what I wanted to do. So I did what I did best throughout my highschool years, play music. It didn’t take me long to discover that this what i really wanted to do. So I had to tell them. And ‘course, they didn’t like it. As soon as I turned seventeen, I flew the nest, onto bigger and brighter things in California. I soon found some new friend easily, set up a band and volia! And going on this tour is just the beginning, I’m telling ya.
