name: Courtney
age: 18
roleplaying experience: A year and a half
roleplaying sample:It was go time. This was the battle of Corey's life. She has spent over four years training to defend herself if she needed to. Now, she certainly needed to. Corey was on the way to meet her boyfriend, Steve, at their typical rendezvous point. It was a run-down gas station, off of the thruway. It had a tiny Dunkin Doughnuts for the convenience of truck drivers who may stop by. She was running a few minutes early to meet him. She pulled her 1994 Ford Explorer into an empty spot, and she put it into park. Her cell phone started ringing, so she leaned across the car, into the passenger seat, and began rummaging her black purse in order to find her phone. Before she could find it, something came crashing through her window.
What "it" was, was a baseball bat. It was pure luck that she had been facing away from the window as the bat came soaring through. If she hadn't been, she would have had a much harder time handling this situation. Moments after the bat broke through, a hand reached in and unlocked the driver's side door. The door was flung open, and that same hand clenched her by her neck, and dragged her out into the parking lot. Her attacker was at least six feet tall. He had a five o'clock shadow, and wore a Yankee's cap, talk about irony. His fingers dug into the side of her neck as he spat into her face, "you're coming with us, girlie."
He expected a victim. He was a predator, and he was looking for an easy hunt. He was expecting her to scream, and cry out for help. Little did he know, that she was nobody's prey. Corey drove her clasped hands down into his elbow. His grip was broken enough for her next strike to be effective. Immediately after she struck his elbow, Corey executed a knife hand strike to his wrist. He gasped in pain as she struck the pressure point, and let go of her throat. The battle had begun
This is where she found herself, beginning the fight for her life. She could tell that he was strong, so this would be challenging. However, Corey couldn't give up. She couldn't allow herself to be defeated. The attacker cocked his fist, and ran threw a hook punch at her face. She ducked, barely missing its blow, and came up on the other side of his arm. She grabbed him by his shoulders, and drove her knee into his torso as she slammed his body down. Corey was lucky, and landed the blow right into his solarplex, a soft spot right below the sternum. She felt his body crumple, and he collapsed onto the ground gasping for breath. She thought it was over, until she recalled his words, "you're coming with us." That means there was more.
Mere seconds after she realized it, the two others were already attacking her. It began with one from behind. He wrapped his arms around her, immobilizing her arms, in what was essentially a bear hug. As he held her there, the other one ran towards her, with the baseball bat in his hand. With split second timing, Corey used the guy behind her as leverage, and jumped into the air, slamming her feet into the attacker wielding the bat. The blow was enough for him to fall back, his head slamming into the concrete of the parking lot. He was out for sure. There was one left. She had a little bit of wiggle room for her arms, and managed to drive her elbow into his stomach. He let go of her, and grasped his right arm, raised it above her right shoulder, and slammed it down, causing at least a fracture. He moaned in pain, giving her a bit of satisfaction. Corey then reached down between her legs, grabbed one of his by the knee, and pulled it through her own. He came crashing down, but not as hard as the guy before him. She turned around, raised her foot in the air, and drove it down in an axe-like motion. Her heel drove into his chest, and his body crumpled to the side, in pain. Her body finally had a chance to relax, just as the the distinctive ring of police sirens grew closer and closer. "Oh great," she mumbled.

how did you get here: I've always wanted to get out of Warwick. I was born there, and grew up with the vile stench of manure wafting through my window every morning from the neighbor's dairy farm. I spent every day dreaming about getting out. But this? Living my life tied to a band? Well, it's not exactly what I had in mind. I planned on going to law school, after I graduated from Vassar. I even quit my job instructing at King's Taekwondo Academy so I can focus on school. But, once I got on campus, the books fell off my desk and were replaced with handles of rum and even a bong or two. For a while, I was stupid. And after getting kicked off campus for smoking in my room, I had to find a plan B. So I ended up here, selling tee shirts for a band I'm not even a part of. It's fun and all, plus there's no RA's to bust my ass, but I'm still searching for more in this town.
